Your school develops a standard point card which includes the schools’ expectations and a set number of check-in times during the school day. Visit the CICO-SWIS publications page for examples..
Compatible variations include:
- A school might have developmentally appropriate rating scales (smile/neutral/sad face) for kindergartners and first graders, and a 0-1-2 rating scale for 2nd–5th graders. The rating scale needs to fit within a three point scale that gets converted to 0-1-2 when entering data in CICO-SWIS.
- A school has a block schedule with 8 periods across two days. The point card is set up for four periods a day. CICO-SWIS data entry is set up to accept 8 periods of data a day. CICO-SWIS data is entered for periods 1-4 on alternate days and periods 5-8 on alternate days.
- A school has three expectations for SWPBIS and we one individualized goal for each student on Check-In Check-Out. This format is compatible with CICO-SWIS. Data entry will be set up for 4 expectations daily.
- A school uses HUG, BEP, Check and Connect, not Check-In Check-Out. If the program fits the features of a targeted intervention, using a daily point card, and meets the readiness requirements, CICO-SWIS can be used for data entry and progress monitoring.
