What if the student I'm referring isn't on the student list?

Data Entry and SWIS Admin users at your school can add students and staff to your school’s rosters. If the student you’re referring isn’t on the student list, you’ll need to ask either a Data Entry or SWIS Admin user in your building to add them for you.
In the meantime, this is a nice place to take advantage of saving a referral as a draft.
  1. Enter the information you know into each of the referral fields. 
  2. Type the student’s name into the Notes field so you can remember which student you’re referring.
  3. Save the referral as a Draft.
  4. When the student name is added as part of your school’s student roster, go to Tools and then Referral Management.
  5. Locate the draft referral and double-click anywhere in the row.
  6. Select the student name from the Student drop-down menu.
  7. Select the student’s grade if it doesn’t appear automatically in the Grade field.
  8. Delete the student’s name from the Notes field.
  9. Click Save Referral as Complete to submit the referral to SWIS, or Send for Review to send it to one of your school’s reviewers.
