TFI 3.0 Conversion Tables and Formulas

The following tables provide conversions across percents, points, and measures for several key cut points for each tier. Below the tables, we provide formulas to calculate the full range of scores.

Tier 1

To calculate related percent scores across measures, use the following formulas:

Subscale	Converting percent from 2.1 to 3.0	Converting percent from 3.0 to 2.1
Tier 1	3.0% = (2.1% x 0.75) - 8.23	2.1%= 3.0% /0.75 + 10.97
Tier 2	3.0% = (2.1% x 0.63) - 0.9	2.1%= 3.0% /0.63 + 0.57
Tier 3	3.0% = (2.1% x 0.66) + 0.9	2.1%= 3.0% /0.66 – 1.36

To convert from percent scores to points scores on either measure multiply the percent score by the total number of possible points and divide by 100. For example, a 70% on the TFI 2.1 Tier 1 subscale = 70 x 30/100 or 21 points.
