At my school, we would like to be able to promote all student grade levels as opposed to waiting until we enter a referral for each student. We have a large number of students that will not have a single referral all school year. One idea we had was to delete all current students in our SWIS account and then import the lists again only this time with the new grade levels. This would obviously solve my grade level issue, but won't this delete all previously added referrals for all of my students from the 2014-15 school year?
If I archive all of my current students before I delete them, when I go to import the lists with new grade levels, will the system block this action because I would have a number of student ids that would be duplicates?
You can import the same list and the files will updated with the new grade level as long as district ID numbers match. You can also indicate on the file a status to archive students no longer in the building.
