How do I modify an existing Custom Field in SWIS?

Your school or facility may identify additional information about a referral that is needed for local decision making, district/state reporting, or other purposes. Because Custom Fields are a School Setting, school-wide agreements should be made about how to best utilize these fields within SWIS.

To modify an existing custom field:
  1. In the Custom Fields section, double-click the Custom Field you want to edit.
  2. In the Edit Custom Field screen, update the field Label, Identifier, or Item(s) as appropriate.
If you need to merge field items:
  1. Select the item to keep and click Merge.
  2. The Merge Field Items screen will open.
  3. Select the item to remove.
  4. Click Merge. This will update all existing referrals to use the item label that was kept.
